MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS
I had a discussion with my wife this morning about how the media is using the terminology “The Big Lie” when they refer to Trump and Trump supporters who still believe the election was a fraud.
I said to my wife that the terminology is a Nazi euphemism that was used by Hitler in Mein Kampf about the use of a lie so “colossal” that no one would believe that someone “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously”.
My wife told me that we live in a time where the media claims that Hitlers are everywhere.
I then commented that reminded me of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs meets Napoleon Bonaparte and foils all his plans for world take over. In the end the little Napoleon is picked up by the men in white coats. One says to the other: “Look Pierre, another Napoleon”, and Pierre replies: “that’s the twelfth one today.” The little commander then yells” But I am Napoleon as he is being dragged away.
If you take a moment and tine into the popular Left-wing media, you would have to surmise that there are “little Hitlers” everywhere in this country that believes in the “Big Lie.”
The media should check themselves when they use loaded euphemisms because what they are doing is unwittingly outing themselves as “propaganda masters.”
The Big Lie is a propaganda technique used for political purpose or, more formally, “a gross distortion or misrepresentation of the facts, especially when used as a propaganda device by a politician or official body”.
The real Big Lie that is being declared in this nation is the somewhat Orwellian propaganda slice where the media has declared the “Democracy has prevailed.”
The new administration is now being treated as if it was a victory against an imaginary war that was created in the editorial meetings at CNN and MSNBC, much like the Big Lie that was told over and over again by Goebbels and his propaganda programmers.
Even with the victory declared for the Democrats – the media cannot let go of Donald Trump making him their Emanuel Goldstein – a character from 1984 where the party used him as a symbol for the much needed two minutes of hate.
It appears that the Big Lie is right out of Hitler’s play book –and the continues Trump hate is directly taken from the pages of Orwell.
The Left-wing ministry of love; namely, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Adam Schiff are finding ways to continually incite anger by not only using Trump as a tool of derision, but the impeachment as yet another way to incite civil war in this country.
It is now quite obvious that you can’t whip millions of people into a four-year frenzy of fear and hatred of a legitimately elected President and portray him as a Russian Intelligence asset, and the Son of Hitler, and all the rest of it, and then just drop the act cold and laugh in their faces.
You have to continue to push the “Big Lie” reminding everyone that he was the worst President, a monster, a man unworthy of even being seen as a human being.
It is the equivalent of creating the unperson – a tactic used by Soviet Russia to virtually eliminate someone from history.
The Stalin-era Soviet Union also provided real-world examples of unpersons in its treatment of Leon Trotsky and other members of the Communist Party who became politically inconvenient.
In the George Orwell book, 1984, an “Unperson” is someone who has been vaporized. Vaporization is when a person is secretly murdered and erased from society, the present, the universe, and existence. Such a person would be taken out of books, photographs, and articles so that no trace of them is found in the present anywhere – no record of them would be found.
This was so that a person who defied the Party would be gone from all citizens’ memories, even friends and family. There is no Newspeak word for what happened to unpeople, therefore it is thoughtcrime to say an unperson’s name or think of unpeople.
At the moment Trump is an asset to the party – he is the best thing that has ever happened to the Left-wing consensus – he is the Satan to their new God, Joe Biden.
However, his tenure as Public Enemy Number 1 will eventually be replaced.
Given some time he will either disappear or will be given the equivalent stature of Count Dracula. If this is democracy prevailing, then it most certainly is a democracy that has been replaced by mob rule.
There is an old saying that applies to what is happening today in shadow of abuses of power, whether it be in government or religion – if we don’t see it or if it doesn’t affect us, we can all pretend it is not there.
Impunity is defined as an exemption from punishment or freedom from the injurious consequences of an action. We are seeing this happening in our corrupt system.
State impunity is at the root of the problem with government corruption.
Over the past decades, social science has cataloged numerous knowledge gaps in the human mind. Many of us suffer from selective hearing and selective thinking. We are complacent about what we know and oblivious to what we miss. This is a condition known as hypocognition. It is a condition that is being exploited by social media and various other media outlets in order to give them justification for binding certain types of media from speaking against state oligarchies and their proclivities.
If you don’t know that hypocognition is, then you just experienced it.
Hypocognition, a term introduced to modern behavioral science by anthropologist Robert Levy, means the lack of a linguistic or cognitive representation for an object, category, or idea. It means that when you are introduced to a new concept that you are unaware of – you tend to think it is unimportant or you reject it.
All of us are hypocognitive of the numerous concepts that elude our awareness.
Hypocognition is about the absence of things. It is hard to recognize precisely because it is invisible.
There is plenty of information that our media excludes or finds a way to exclude it is ignored because of what can be called impossible criteria or because an editor sees to it that a particular item is ignored for a more sensational item that can jar an emotional complacent response.
This adds to the idea that if you don’t see it then you can assume it is not there. If it is not reported in a mainstream framework then it must be a conspiracy theory.
This is a very dangerous way of rendering a population ignorant.
It’s a strange world of Orwellian newspeak we are now living in. Social media and the mainstream media are now in the business of creating what can be called an information famine or the deprivation of critical concepts poses a great perceptual disadvantage for all of us.
The media is successfully taking advantage of hypocognition.
And who do they use to push hypocognition?
Experts who are confined by their own expertise.
Experts who overuse the constricted set of concepts and rigid thinking within their own profession while neglecting a broader array of equally valid concepts.
Society is now being herded in echo chambers of thought control and anti-critical thinking. Without the ability to examine an issue impartially and completely there is little hope of maintaining liberty and freedom, as history repeatedly demonstrates.
The mainstream media has created many buzzwords that also spin hypocognition and the negation of critical thinking.
You see, propagandists are smart people. They begin their devious machinations with the premise that people need to believe in something rather than remaining suspended in doubt or forced to accept the existential courage of despair that leaves them temporarily lost and without answers or masters, suffering from free-floating anxiety.
The need to catch you in a vulnerable moment it is a tactic used by very clever cult leaders.
They know people are afraid of, being unsure about their decisions. They know that people think about their vulnerability. They want you to believe you are in control – that you are not stupid enough to be duped by “The Big Lie.”
They cannot allow you to let go of Trump and move on because that would mean that for four years you were being lied to about Russian meddling, white supremacy, nationalism and emotionally manipulated, about Nazis and Fascists.
Because that would mean that you fell for yet another Big Lie.
No, these spin doctors want to keep creating bogeyman stories.
All they had to do was produce a cheap simulation of “Trump going full-Hitler.” It didn’t even have to be convincing. They just needed a semi-dramatic event to plug into the official narrative, something they could call “an attempted coup,” “an insurrection,” “an attack,” and so on, and which millions of credulous liberals could hysterically shriek about on the Internet.
The “Storming of the Capitol” did the trick. Something like the Reichstag fire.
You see there are Hitlers everywhere, Emanuel Goldstein and his enemies of the state need to be held accountable.
I wish that most Americans could see this but there are too many people in hysterics jumping all over people that point this out – to do this would ignite the two minutes of hate from the disciples of the “truth.”
If you want to know what is really happening it is the equivalent of a prison riot.
This, basically, is what we’ve just experienced. The global capitalist ruling classes have just reminded us who is really in charge, who the US military answers to, and how quickly they can strip away the façade of democracy and the rule of law. They have reminded us of this for the last ten months, by putting us under house arrest, berating and arresting people for not following orders, for not wearing masks, for taking walks without permission, for having the audacity to protest, for challenging their official propaganda, about the virus, the election results and everything they decide is “truth.”
They are reminding us currently by censoring dissent, and de–platforming anyone they deem a threat to their official narratives and ideologies.
What is most intriguing is that no one wants to admit this is happening because to do so makes you look as if you support Hitler, Emanuel Goldstein, of Trump who has become that Hitler who ate cheeseburgers.
The corporate mass media hypnotists who work for the real owners of the country will continue to pump out their two minutes of hate and the various congregations will support their masters as always. The will to believe runs very deep and hand-in-glove with the propaganda. Life’s hard and it’s tough to be without a master.
Propagandists’ ability to mesmerize the faithful has increased exponentially as the technological life has increased and been promoted as a well of factual and fashionable information.
After all the fact checking algorithms promote a one-sided view of what is happening.
This on-line life is propagated as a new religion whose embrace is said to be inevitable and whose faith one must accept as the missionaries for its miraculous nature spread the word far and wide.
Facts don’t matter with these offerings since they are completely illusory narratives.
This has been proven by the fact that when progressive cities and states were under attack during the Summer – the media called the demonstrations peaceful. When people were demanding that leaders recognize groups like Proud Boys and Antifa as violent groups – the Proud Boys were called “Domestic Terrorists” and Antifa were simply an “idea” – and not an organized mob responsible for vandalizing and setting fire to police precincts and government buildings.
Their acts of terror were ignored and then after the Capitol assault, they flipped the script, and even when it was obvious that what went on was a riot slash photo-op it simply is out of the question that this could have been a staged attack as a distraction and an opportunity to exploit anyone who challenged the priest class in Washington.
It is then that whole stage play had jumped the shark where the entire event was being used to expose most Americans political naivete.
These staged plays usually contain their opposites; one can choose what has already been chosen for one, even seemingly contradictory scripts with opposing roles. Seemingly is the relevant word, for the opposites are not opposites but counterparts, flip sides of the same coin. But each choice is a choice of belief that satisfies the need to believe no matter how unbelievable. It is the coin that’s counterfeit.
For the propagandists, facts are fictions used to entice the audience into double-binds so entrancing that there is no exit. Or so they hope.
We know that you cannot be rational without emotions. Without emotion, you would not know what to want, since like and not-like would be meaningless to you. When there is neither like nor not-like, nor any judgment of the emotional reactions of others, you cannot make rational decisions.
However, over emotional framing and using emotional response as fact eliminates critical thinking structures and have been spun as fact in the media framework.
They are not fact—they are emotional responses and are there to get you to react emotionally and accept the framework and put it into policy.
Emotional responses in the media are often couched in identity politics and therefore are least likely to be factual.
The repetition of ideological language will strengthen the circuits for that ideology in a hearer’s brain. And since language that is repeated very often becomes “normally used” language, ideological language repeated often enough can become “normal language” but still activate that ideology unconsciously in the brains of citizens—and journalists.
Hitler coined the term “the big lie” to describe a lie that “the great masses of the people” will fall for precisely because of how bold and monstrous the lie is.
A known falsehood is stated and repeated and treated as if it is self-evidently true, in hopes of swaying the course of an argument in a direction that takes the big lie for granted rather than critically questioning it or ignoring it.
Edward Bernays, the father of American propaganda once said:
“Thinking critically means making reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out. It is a way of thinking in which one doesn’t simply accept all arguments and conclusions to which one is exposed without questioning the arguments and conclusions. It requires curiosity, skepticism and humility.
People who use critical thinking are the ones who say things such as, “How do you know that?” “Is this conclusion based on evidence or gut feelings?” and “Are there alternative possibilities when given new pieces of information?”
There was and still is a lack of inquiry and discernment and therefore we get people believing in QAnon conspiracy theories which are equally as bad as CNN conspiracy theories.
CNN will have you believe that there are Hitler’s everywhere – just like Bugs Bunny dealt with Napoleon – and the men in white coats were rounding up all of them.
In a fragmented civil war where those in power see domestic terrorists everywhere, there will be no one above suspicion.
We appear to be headed toward a dystopian future in which there will essentially be two classes of people who adapt to the new normal and the extremists that refuse to. ”
It will make no difference whatsoever what type of “extremists” these “extremists” are … religious-fundamentalist extremists, Islamic extremists, Christian extremists, right-wing extremists, left-wing extremists, white-supremacist or Black-nationalist extremists, virus deniers, anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, anti-maskers transphobians, anti-transhumanists, pronoun resisters, defiant oppositionalists, or whatever … the names don’t really matter.
We will all be surveyed and monitored for our compliance.
The point is, conform or be labelled an “extremist,” a “domestic terrorist,” or some other type of “antisocial person” or “social deviant,” or “a threat to public health.”
You see where this is going?
Propagandists and the media that pushes their spin wants to incite a riot.
They do not believe in freedom.
